The City of Joy welcomes you to discover its then and now ...

This is a city tour by a river cruise of 7 hours every day of the week.

MAHANAGAR, Kolkata by the river is a cruise known to have been born on the bank of Great River Ganges. It will be a sail down the memory lane, from the time when Job Charnock dropped his first anchor at Cossim Bazar. Framed between the two steel structures of, Vidyasagar Setu, and the magnificent Howrah Bridge, very old landmarks from the days of the British Raj, there are numerous ghats that relate to us of Kolkata's past and present life. Princep Ghat, Gwalior Ghat, Outram Ghat, Kashi Mitter Ghat, Sova bazaar, Kumartuli ghat, Bag Bazar, Maratha Ditch to name a few. Early morning is the time when the ghats come alive buzzing with activities - masseurs, bathers, rituals, ferries carrying office goers between the two banks, boats carrying goods, the fishermen throwing their nets around. The cruise will have three shore excursions - Belur Math, Kumartully and Indian Botanic Gardens.

The cruise would have a Guide on board narrating the history of the Great City of Kolkata & the ghats on either banks of the river. Sumptuous breakfast and a traditional Bengali lunch is served.

Onboard, the seating is free and not pre designated seats. The guests would be able to move freely in the cruiser and the view from the cruiser is like a kaleidoscope of shifting images. The cruisers deployed for Mahanagar cruise are double decked and have an air-conditioned lounge for relaxing.
